Mandatory gear for each section of the race must be carried at all times during that section. More gear may be necessary for the race, but
that is up to the discretion of each team/individual. There WILL be multiple gear checks on the course. All clothing must fit the racer. Gear that is
modified in any way that is deemed non-usable by the race staff will result in a penalty for that team.
TEAM GEAR (to be carried at all times during the race):
Water purifier and / or iodine tablets (36-Hour: 50 iodine; 12-Hour: 20)
2 Compasses
Waterproof map carrying case
Team First-Aid Kit
6 4"x4" gauze pads
1 roll medical tape
1 3" Ace bandage
10 painkiller tablets (Aspirin, Acetaminophen, etc.)
6 Betadine, iodine or alcohol swabs
6 Band-Aids
2 Pairs of Latex Gloves
1 tube of antibacterial ointment (Neosporin, etc.)
Tool or Method for plotting UTM coordinates (Bonk Hard Racing will have these for sale at
racer check-in for $6)
Cell phone in waterproof container with fully charged battery (for emergency use only)
EXTRA Headlamp with fully charged batteries (36-Hour course only)
2 fire starter sticks (36-Hour course only)
INDIVIDUAL GEAR (to be carried by each racer at all times during the race):
Hydration Pack (36-Hour: 80 oz. minimum; 12-Hour: 40 oz. minimum)

Whistle
Emergency Blanket
1 Flint or Lighter
Waterproof Jacket (no ponchos!)
Fleece Jacket or Pullover (absolutely no cotton)
Waterproof Pants (36-Hour course only)
